BIOGRAPHY

Wacław Kasprzak was born 26.IX.1932. Graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Wrocław University of Technology in 1956.

He started his professional career during the study at the department of Technical Mechanic. Worked under the supervision of Prof. Marek Zakrzewski, who also became the supervisor of his doctoral dissertation, devoted to the states of material in the places of stress concentration. The thesis of his doctors of science degree was devoted to the analysis  of construction load on the base of stress measurements and the behavior of policrystals on the base  of the monocrystals properties (1967).

  • 1974 and 1985 visiting professor at L’Ecole Superieur at Nancy and Nantes
  • In 1971 he visited many universities in USA, thanks to the invitation  of the secretary of state, studying the universities organizations, programs of education and their scientific infrastructure

 

INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION

  • 1976-1980 cooperation with prof.prof. E. Haug and V. Komkov from USA in a field of mathematical modelling
  • From 1995 with professor V. Panasyuk (Karpenko Physico Mechanical Inst. Of the National Academy of Science of UKRAINE)
  • Cooperation with professor S. Sahn from Dresden University of Technology organizing Summer Schools on Fracture Mechanics
